Mobs of hate filled students threw hundreds of books onto the fires. Books written by authors that the supreme leaders believed undermined their ability to rule. Why did young people do this? They had been inculcated since the time they were children with the belief that they were purifying their society. They had been taught that evil was good if it served the new truth. They were puppets of the Hitler youth movement. It took place more than 80 years ago.
In 2024, citizens believe that what happened in Europe could never happen here. Yet this state of Arizona has nurtured radical groups who support those who advocate for the violent overthrow of our democracy. Most of these cancers call themselves “Christian”, and defend their acts as justified by the Bible. They are not.
A Prescott “religious” leader who has developed his powers to misdirect young people, has revived the horrors of the Hitler youth movement. He is sending young men out into the community to harass and generally disrupt citizen groups that are celebrating their right to meet. He arms his young disruptors with megaphones and signs and sends them out with permission to use any threatening behavior that will break up meetings and spread fear and terror.
Screaming atrocities and bullying their way they surrounded and drowned out the voices of those they came to harass. I am not making this up. This is what happened in Prescott at the Women’s March last week.
Are the actions of this disgusting group excused because they claim to be Christian? Are citizens protected from harassment by those who intimidate and disrupt meetings and events, even if no one is physically touched?
In the not-too-distant past disruptors, liars, and charlatans were tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. We don’t do that anymore. Are there other more civilized ways to address this problem?
